why re-invent the wheel?

After seven years of days, nights and untold weekends, along with incredible help from many talented people, La Casa de Da-Vid stands as a testament to inspiration, perseverance and creative expression. It is truly a labor of love. Having only modest experience prior to its undertaking, David Kin researched, learned and experimented as he went. Without a doubt, the undertaking was a work of art balancing aspects of visual esthetics, function, economics and ecology that established him as an artist. Though it stretched him beyond measure, he loved the process of designing and building!

Given the above, he is interested in sharing the knowledge and experience he has acquired. Although  sustainable building has caught the attention of more people, there are real hurdles faced for those seeking to undertake the challenge, not the least of which is national codes and regulations controlling the design and implementation.
